Aw, that sucks. It's never fun to be sick on your birthday. :/
Soothers, honey and hot lemon drinks (or lemsips, but I don't like those) and ice cream can help sore throats. Rest as much as you can, and maybe take some painkillers before you go out if you think that will help.
