New Team Leaders

We are delighted to announce some new roles and welcome our new team leaders who will heading up several areas on TeenHelp:
  • Holly (Celyn) - Mentoring and Support Team Leader
  • Dez (Wheek!) - Community Team Leader
  • Cassie (cynefin) - Publications and Marketing Team Leader
They each have many years of experience across different areas of the site and are well-placed to lead in each of their respective areas. The skills, knowledge and ideas they bring will support us to deliver on the goals of our five year plan.

Join us in congratulating Holly, Dez and Cassie - these positions are very well deserved.

We have lots of volunteer roles available and multiple new roles coming up soon to fill, so watch this space - it's never too late to get involved!

TeenHelp's five year plan

Following a review of our services and seeking feedback through surveys and holding discussions with our members, we have produced an Action Plan for the next five years. Thank you to everyone who contributed to this.

We always welcome feedback and ideas, so please drop us a line, we'd love to hear from you!

TeenHelp's achievements and impact

We recently took some time to reflect on TeenHelp's achievements over the last three years. Here's an infographic to showcase some of the key highlights and achievements, which could not have been possible without our amazing community and volunteers. Thank you to everyone for their continued support.

TeenHelp Tips

Ice skating for beginners

by Emmie (Golfing girl)

Ice skating can be a fun activity at any time of the year. Have you ever tried ice skating? If you haven't, why not give it a try because it is so much fun to go with friends or family members and you will enjoy spending time together. Here are some tips if you are new to this.

Here are a few ways to stay safe online.
  • Find an ice rink. If you have outdoors or indoor rinks pick one and organise a date to go with your friends or family. Outdoors can cost less than indoors, and you will also be outside in the cold but it's a magical experience when it snows on you and it's so pretty to see. Indoor rinks are warmer.
  • Dress for comfort. You don't want to wear jeans because if you fall down they are going to get wet and it's going to be hard to move in. It is better to wear yoga pants or leggings, hat, scarf, gloves, hoodie and a jacket if you want. You want to be comfortable in what you have on and have fun.
  • Pick your skates. Try skates that are one size down because you need a snug fit and you don't want them moving around on you. You can try a few different skates until you find one that feels comfortable.
  • Start slowly. Stand up and try walking around before you get to the ice. Go slow, have your feet apart as you normally are walking and when you get to the ice start walking slowly and if you need the railing to help you to not fall then use that. If you fall, you fall, try to stay calm and get back up to try again. Don't give up after the first fall.
Would you like to get involved?

TeenHelp is run entirely by volunteers who give their time and experience to make everything we do happen! We are always looking for new volunteers to help out, in roles ranging from mentoring to writing. If you have a few hours a week to spare then why not give it a go, your contribution could make a massive difference to TeenHelp and the young people we support on a daily basis.
