Magnification option. Issue Tools

Magnification option.

There should be an option to magnify the text on TeenHelp for those who have visual difficulties and struggle to read the teeny tiny font that some users post using. Or, do both — give a magnification option for the overall site and a default font option for reading posts.

Editing to clarify: I have my browser default zoom set at 120% but when I am on TeenHelp, I have to increase that to 150%. It's still a bit small, but increasing it more would send everything into chaos.

Hello, are you able to suggest what you think would be a good solution to this?

It's worth saying that TeenHelp uses a number of different programs, including some external software, so it's not possible to implement a solution across all site areas such as Support Forums, Chat Room, Live Help etc as some of these such as Discord we have no control over.

If it's the Support Forums that are causing issues, then one thing we can do is set up a larger font option on the themes if this would be helpful.

However what you are already doing by controlling magnification with your browser seems like a good solution and changing the font size on the site may not look much different to this.

There will also be a range of other browser addons that would be helpful across all site areas, such as magnifying glass, high contrast colours, screen reader, etc. If you need help identifying some options I can look for you.

Hey Rob, I like the idea of setting up a customized theme where text will be in a larger size; but not affecting the layout at the same time.

I am not familiarized with any applications or website that would improve visibility feature. I know Firefox — the browser I use — allows you to zoom in. However, I have it set to "text only" which means the rows and columns, general layout, will remain the same while text size increases.

That's really what I mean by "going into chaos" by zooming in too much; because the text will go into the following rows (as the columns restrict it) and overlap, etc.

I like the idea of TeenHelp having an accessibility guide of some sort. As Rob mentioned, there's no one-size-fits-all approach because of the various programs/applications we use, but we could list options for viewing the Forums, viewing Discord, etc.
