Tattoos and Piercings This forum is to ask questions and discuss tattoos, piercings and other aesthetic body modifications.
Hey hey so I'm getting a tattoo of a barbed wire around my ankle and was wondering if anyone knew about the pain. I'm not really a wimp at all when it comes to pain, but I just wanted to gauge how bad it's going to be.
I moved this to tattoos and piercings because that's where it fits most.
I don't have a tattoo so I'm not much help, but I know that the pain level varies by person and by location on the body.
Other people have tattoos on the site so I bet you will get an answer soon!
Do you ever get a little bit tired of life
Like you're not really happy but you don't wanna die
Like you're hanging by a thread but you gotta survive
'Cause you gotta survive
I have four tattoos-- one on each wrist, a shoulder one, and a neck tattoo. My sister has a tattoo around her ankle, and she has said many times that it doesn't hurt as much, only when it hit certain places, which makes sense. If I had to rate on pain levels, my wrists and shoulder tattoos would be a 5/10 while my neck tattoo is a 9/10. I was close to getting up and walking out because it hurt so much.
There is no beauty without somestrangeness.

I have tattoos all over but none on my ankle. My ribs wasn't that bad and neither was the back of my neck. Everyone is different. I have a pretry high pain threshold but I know others who have had tattoos and would never have another. I'm sure you will be fine. Every time I go for a tattoo I really psch myself up and majority of the time I've walked out and been surprised how much I worried about something which wasn't that painful.
