My period came back at MY healthy weight, or my set point, as it's commonly referred to. Everyone has one, and it's the weight your body is happiest at. Even when I was in the healthy BMI range, I didn't get my period until I gained a bit more and then eventually found my ideal weight. 
Take as long as you need.
