I personally don't think contracts are the best way to quit. Anyway, talk to the person who made you sign it and ask what the consequences are. You can try telling them that this isn't a good way to get you to stop. You can't just make someone stop... maybe they help some people, but like you said, I would see it as a pointless piece of paper.

Be yourself, because those who matter don't mind and those who mind don't matter.
