Aw, your dad seems to really care about you. I'm really glad your dad was so understanding towards this. Hopefully from now on, the support from your dad and spending time with him will end up helping you a lot along with forming a closer relationship with him. I'm sorry about how your mom reacted though, she may have felt as she didn't know what to say/feel about it.
You should be proud of yourself for telling your parents about this. Opening up about such sensitive, personal issues takes a lot of courage!
