Re: What are your goals for physical exercise? - April 28th 2015, 07:40 PM

All I could tihnk about was the scene in American Beauty:
Quote:
Lester Burnham: I figured you guys might be able to give me some pointers. I need to shape up. Fast.
Jim Olmeyer: Are you just looking to lose weight, or do you want increased strength and flexibility as well?
Lester:
I don't have any concrete goals. When it comes to exercise, I'm not always the best at being realistic in what can be achieved in what amount of time, and I become disheartened if by 3 workouts I can't already run at this pace or if I didn't lose x amount of weight. So I'm mostly focused on being healthier and relieving stress. I still want to complete a 5k race (I've ran that amount but not in a race), I want to start cycling with my partner, I want to start some weight training this summer with a friend of mine who told me she'd show me how, etc. But no goals on pace or anything. I also wouldn't mind losing a few pant sizes as I can't afford to buy more clothes, so fitting back in my high school clothes would be nice.
