Re: Eating Disorder of some sort? - March 17th 2016, 06:06 PM

Hi there,

Thanks for reaching out to us here, I hope we can help you.

I agree with you that it does not sound like BED, anorexia or bulimia but could be EDNOS although I am not medically trained to diagnosis you.

Although to me, it sounds like stress it what's causing you not to eat and to me that's not an eating disorder. If you were having bad thoughts about your weight, the way you look, the way you feel or felt as though if you ate something bad would happen for example, then I would be bordering onto you maybe having an eating disorder but because it's not that, I think it's stress which is causing you to have less of an appetite.

My advice to you would be to work on how you can manage stressful situations like the ones you mentioned and your stress levels in general. Maybe if we can get you managing them and how to deal with these stressful situations then you'd feel more able to eat properly. Maybe it would be a good idea to see your doctor to learn ways to deal with stress. I know you don't want to hear that but that's my honest advice. People deal with stress in different ways like going for walks, writing how they feel, relaxation, mindfulness etc so these are all things you can try.

I really hope things start to look up for you if you need any more help feel free to reply to this!

Hope and wishes,
Jessie
