If your artist told you that it would look fine then I guess you could go for it. However, having an artist tell you that black covers everything and that this type of tattoo is a good choice is completely different. In my opinion, this type of tattoo is not the best tattoo to get in order to cover up. No matter what route you go to cover a tattoo you are likely going to have to keep that tattoo covered during most job interviews. However, some coverups are easier to hide than others and it doesn't seem like this type of cover up would be the easiest to hide. That being said, if you really want it you can get it done. It's just unlikely that you will be able to fix it if you end up not liking it.
