I ended up putting this book down and picking up The Serpent King by Jeff Zetner....it was exceptionally disappointing. I was really bored and wish I had picked something else. That being said, I was able to finish it in a day so not too much of a waste.

This book was ... really boring and confusing? I only got about 50 pages in and I was confused and had no real desire to continue. I also didn't care much to know what would happen and so I DNF'
ed. It is unfortunate because it had a really intriguing premise but I need to care about a story in some way in order to read it. I either need to care about the characters or the ending or something. When I don't care about anything I know it will be really hard, if not impossible, to finish.
So, now I am reading this:
I am only 10% in and not sure if I'll get much more read tonight. However, I am enjoying it. I do see that, for some, it might be triggering though.
