Thanks for the response. Servers make significantly more than many other workers. They are just paid by the customer, and thats the way they like it. They don’t want a flat wage, so why shouldnt it be taxed? Why tax someone who works at a fast food restaurant but not a fine restaurant who makes 10x more? Make it make sense. As I am taxed and make less than the average server, I will be subtracting the tax from the tip. It’s only fair. Bartenders are not low wage workers, they make disproportionately more…. due to tips. They are paid little by their employers in many states BECAUSE their income is from tips. As such, they should have to pay income tax like the rest of us!
