Crazy vivid dream I had during a nap - August 7th 2025, 09:36 PM

Today, I am sick and fell back asleep in the middle of the day. I recently got a DUI in real life and in this dream, I was back in jail. The dream actually felt more terrifying than my real-life experience with getting arrested and put in jail. The dream was semi-lucid as well. I kept wondering if it was a dream and kept trying to wake myself up out of the nightmare but remained asleep so I came to the conclusion that it was NOT a dream.
In this dream, I had no idea why I was in jail or how long I would be there. I am on prescribed medication that I can't cold turkey and this really worried me. Next thing I knew, they brought several of us together (classroom size) and men and women were in the same room. We would listen to a presentation and then go to the next room. Each room seemed slightly less "jail-like" than the last which I figured was a good sign that I was being released (jail release doesn't quite work like this in real life, but this was a dream and it all made sense). However, I was not sure and worried I could be there for several more days. I remember telling a female inmate about my worry with losing access to the medication and low and behold, somehow she smuggled some pills in within a tylenol bottle. She gave some to me. Handed me the tylenol bottle and I tried pulling 4 of the prescription pills out of the bottle but struggled to grip them. However, I had to be discrete about getting the pills out because I did not want the presenter or guards to see me. I ended up keeping the tylenol bottle in front of me and next thing I knew, they were gone. Not gone as in gone, but misplaced. I panicked that they would have had this on camera, so after leaving that presentation, I kept going to different rooms trying to find the one where I had left the medication, but I was unsuccessful as the jail was a maze. But what is even weirder is that while walking around, much of the jail literally looked and seemed like a 5 star resort! And as time progressed, it seemed more and more like a resort and less of a jail. I would open certain doors and find myself in one of the most beautiful hotel-like settings you can imagine. A couple of the doors even took me to the parking lot and I thought about just leaving, but for some reason I felt like I could not just walk out. I remember asking people why the place seemed to be 50 percent jail and 50 percent 5 star resort and feeling very confused. I was again, also confused as to why I am in jail, but felt like it had to have something to do with my DUI. I could not for the life of me figure out why exactly I was in jail. Also, because of the resort like parts of the complex, I kept wondering if I was really in jail. I remember asking an officer if I was "free to go" and was told no. I think that is the reason I did not leave when opening the doors leading to the parking lot.

The resort part of the complex was amazingly beautiful though. And they had a mall as well! Eventually, I woke up.

Hopefully, I remember this dream when I inevitably consider breaking probation.
