Addiction to pain? - November 20th 2009, 08:20 AM

This thread has been labeled as triggering, particularly on the subject of self harm, by the original poster or by a Moderator. The contents of this thread might therefore not be suitable for certain sensitive users. Please take this into consideration before continuing to read.

Prefix-ed for safety.

Just wanted to drop by and ask if this was a problem ;D

I started self-harming about five years ago, on and off. I don't do it so much now though, just get a slight urge under feelings of great pressure.

I do however, very much enjoy the feelings of pain and find myself picking open scabs (gross, I know), not being overly careful when I shave my legs (If I nick myself I just get all giggly) and running pins and mechanical pencils over my arm to feel slight pain. The sight of any blood sends me into a euphoric state, which of course then dips down until I get a lower mood.

It's nothing serious, I'm not cutting with a knife on purpose like I used to, but I guess it could turn into more of a problem later down the line.

Anywho, opinions appreciated.
