I understand that things can go wrong with a councilor, but honestly, you should try the non-medicated treatment first, and see if you can get better that way.

If things go wrong with a councilor, you can always ask for prescriptions later. If things go wrong with medications, then most likely nothing will happen, but there are cases where something does go wrong (rare, but it happens).

In general, try to avoid drugs if you have the chance, go for more natural remedies. Remember, antidepressants/medications aren't going anywhere in case you want to turn to them later!
