The reason shaven hair looks like it's growing back thicker is because the end has been blunted and is therefore not tapered like it was before.

But it really is an optical illusion and a convenient advertising ploy.

I personally don't like hair removal creams because if they are tough enough to dissolve hair, goodness knows what they are doing to your skin and what's beneath it.

However, I can also see why you wouldn't want to shave your face.

So if waxing isn't for you and you really want to use a hair removal cream, I suggest applying it to a small area of your face first (e.g. a finger print-sized area) and, after washing it off, waiting 24 hours to see if you have any adverse reactions.

Is your hair too thick to be able to bleach it?
