Hey there :)

I seriously doubt that anyone is going to give you tips on how to cut yourself. If you've only just started, and you haven't already talked to someone about it, then I really recommend that you do. Preferably someone who can get you help - that way you can figure out the reasons why you do it. Please don't feel stupid for not knowing why you do it - it's amazing how many people have no idea. I've been SHing for 4 years now (with some massive breaks inbetween), and I only vaguely know my reasons (well, some of them).

Another thing to try is seeing if you can identify what emotions you are feeling every time you get an urge/what lead up to you feeling that way. But I really recommend telling someone. You deserve help to overcome this problem.

Hope I helped
PM/VM me anytime :)

Hi! :)

Hannah is right, no one can give you tips on how to hurt yourself.

I'm sorry you're dealing with this. Don't feel stupid though, yes some people do have different reasons that let them sink so low to this as some people just feel sad and do it. That's why it's pretty important to get in touch with your emotions and things around you to help you better understand why. What happened before that made you turn here?

I know some things are really hard to deal with but I suggest trying out the Self-Harm Alternatives list and replace self-harm with some of those tips that'll help you. Because Self-Harm can become addictive.

By the way, I'm here if you ever need someone to talk to. :) Feel free to PM/VM me.

Hi There,

We can not give you advice about how to sharpen objects or what objects to use in order to SH.
We can encourage you and be supportive of you stopping your SH though.
Next time you want to cut, try keeping a log. Write down:
-Time.
-Place. (Location)
-Situation. (What is going on to make you want to SH.)
-What you are feeling and why.
-How you think that cutting will help.
-What would happen if you cut.
-Why you shouldn't cut.
This can help you figure out a few things:
-What you get out of cutting.
-The negatives to cutting.
-In what situations are you triggered. (For example, when people argue, you are left alone, etc.)
Once you know these things, as time goes on and you use alternatives to SH, you will be able to figure out the pattern of your SH, why you do it and how to react without SH to situations.
This may take some time but that is okay.
You can stop SH and you are a lot stronger than you may feel.
If you ever need anything we are all here for you and you can PM me any time about this or anything else you may be going through.
