Self harm scars

I have self harm scars on both arms from wrist to elbow, some are deep and bright pink some are quite faded. It's always really warm in my college classroom and I'm too scared to take my cardigan/jacket off. I'm scared people will judge me, how can I cover my scars without long sleeves?

Hi Nicole, and welcome to TeenHelp!

You might be able to get some light weight long sleeved shirts or cardigans so you won't feel as uncomfortable with the heat. You can also purchase (or make) arm warmers. You can wear bracelets, watches, or sweatbands for some of the scars on your wrists. You can use makeup as well, and you might be able to go to your doctor and get a special kind of foundation that is made to cover scars. Here is an article with some more ideas. :)

Some concealers are really good at covering the discolouration of self harm scars/ cuts, I use concealer and foundation and then wear bracelets. You can get this really good concealer that is used to cover up burns as well I think.
You can get really lightweight sheer tops that are made to wear in summer, they are just as cool ad wearing no sleeves, or wear lace sleeves or something like that (if you don't have a school uniform).
Hope this helped a bit :)
