Cutting
Hi, I started cutting when I was 15, now I'm 18 going on 19 this month. I want to stop but, I don't want anyone in my life to know. I have a friend that I've been talking with, she helps me out when I'm feeling really bad. Even then though, I'm afraid to let her know I've been cutting. I promised her I wouldn't hurt myself. She doesn't know I started back in eigth grade. I'm afraid of everything that would happen if my parents would find out. I have about twenty cuts on my left arm right now, they've been there since last wednesday. I don't want to disapoint anyone, it just helps me feel more alive and get relief.

Re: Cutting
Hey doll,
I understand how you're feeling. As much as you're afraid though you're going to have to over step that and tell someone. It is nearly impossible to recover alone. At first yes, it will be scary, but after you tell someone trust me it'll be much easier and you'll feel better. Not mentioning that you will have support to help you. Talking about it really helps. And about the disappointment... You're going to disappoint them either way. But the longer you won't tell them the more disappointed they will be. (said from experience) you are of too much value and are far too special to be harming yourself. Listen to me you're valuable, don't undervalue yourself. Circumstances in life may make it seem like cutting is the only way out but believe me it's not. It just gets you in deeper and deeper. You're amazing hun, even though it'll be scary and maybe nerve-wrecking, find someone to tell this too. You're brave :) keep strong hun. Don't give into it. I know you can do this. Believe in yourself :) Feel free to pm me anytime :) |
Re: Cutting
Butterfly project :3 You should try it.
1. Draw butterflies or have someone you hold dear draw them where you self harm 2. Write the names of people or things you are grateful for under them 3. Keep them alive by not cutting, let them fade on their own. Hope this helps :) |
Re: Cutting
Butterfly project? I'll try it, as well as try to tell my friend who said she is there for me.
