SA questions
My partner while we used to be dating kissed me several times and never once asked my consent, is this sexual assault? I didn't WANT this at all...I get flashbacks because of it every night again, I've stopped eating as much again, it's all my old PTSD symptoms, which I never got rid of PTSD, but whatever happened between us didn't make it much better, he tore me down, manipulated me, and then kissed my cheek and neck several times without consent. I don't know whether to consider it sexual assault because we were dating...

Re: SA questions
The absence of a no does not make it a yes. Just because he is your boyfriend doesn't mean he has the right to kiss you or touch you without your consent. Consent involves a clear, enthusiastic yes. You are not obligated to kiss someone or engage in any intimate activity just because you are dating the person. If you're acting like you're not interested in kissing, that is not enthusiastic consent. Try to give a clear no next time, but even so, you need consent to engage in intimate activities.
Is there anyone you can talk to about this, such as the teacher that you trust? |
Re: SA questions
I could talk to my safety teacher about it. My parents just pushed it off as a trauma response and not another trauma...so that's unfortunate.

Re: SA questions
That's a great idea talking to a teacher who you trust for help. I hope they can give you a lot of help so that you will be okay soon.

Re: SA questions
I'm a little nervous because we're still friends and I don't want to get him in trouble, but if my anxiety gets triggered around him I'll tell either Mrs. A or Mrs. M .
