anyone uses NAC for medication?

My psychiatric nurse practioner had told me to try NAC because I am hesitant to go with antidepressants or anti-anxiety or mood stabilizers from pharmaceuticals. But NAC has given me bad stomach problems without going into too much detail. I was told to take the pill with a banana for less side effects but I dont always have a banana. Also, I am starting to feel hopeless about this, even though I've been taking it for less than 2 weeks. I am tracking my mood on a monitor tracking sheet but so far I have very high fatigue and increased stomach problems.

I am not really asking for advice. I think I'm just ranting or something. I am just not sure what to do besides tell her the next time I see her.

NAC as in N-Acetyl Cysteine? It's generally advised to take it with a meal and perhaps this may help to explain the bad stomach problems.

Since it's not necessarily made to treat mental health issues, then I understand why you may feel a bit hopeless with it. But it's good, in general, to track your mood, and with NAC, to see if it helps or not. It's definitely worth talking about with your psychiatrist though. Hopefully you'll find a treatment that works for you :)

Yes, that's what it is, it is easier to call it NAC xD. And that explains it then, thank you :P

I will try having a meal with it consistently.

Thank you, I hope so too.
