Working out and depression

Does anyone else find that working out on a schedule helps with their depression? The new year allows us to make resolutions and mine has been to go to the gym at least 20 minutes a day, 2 times a week. Starting slow, but keeping my minimum baseline and it seems to help with my symptoms. Hope everyone is doing well!

I find it does help me out.

I am a stay at home mom, so when the weather is nice I am able to exercise more. But this year I do plan on working out more and loosing some weight.

I definitely think it helps improve things when you are working out, instead of just sitting down and doing sit down activities. :nosweat:

Keep up the good work!

It definitely helps with mine, especially when I am able to go to an activity like Zumba. Plus I can watch my shows on the treadmill!

Good luck on your goals!

Yeah, I feel like working is helping. You know, thinking about something else.
Good luck with your goals :)

Yes! I used to work out and need to get back into it. I found that I felt I had more energy and felt better about myself when I worked out and sluggish when I didn't work out. Exercise can release endorphins which are a natural way to boost our mood and is often recommended for help with depression :)

I find that it helps me a lot.

I often go 4-6 times a week and I'm actually no longer taking medication. :)

Re: Working out and depression

work out is an opposite side of depression. It is simple, your body processes are limited per day. So, if you spend more time on work out, right diet, sleep and so on, your organism simple will have no time for depression. All time will go for muscle grow.
