I take pain medication as prescribed. I used to abuse Xanax along with oxycontin and I have been sober for 6 months and I now work as a counselor in a drug treatment center after I got my bachelors in psychology.

That's great. Sometimes people in your position can really help people tremendously. I remember the person who help me the most in rehab out of the staff, was actually an intern who was still in school to become a counselor.

A month without alcohol. I don't know if I can keep it up, I hope I can. Jim Carrey, who has clinical depression, once said he stays away from substances because they impact his internal chemistry - same thing here... it seems the longer I'm away from alcohol the more balanced I become. Trying to stay away from the negative aspects of being 'young hollywood.'

I will never ever abuse alcohol, so I have been sober for 310 months and fifteen days. :)

Two and a half weeks free of my own personal addiction. :)

and with the grace of god and the aa program will never have to get loaded or drink again

Where to start off as a first post... I used to use any drug I could get my hands on. Heroin, coke, oxys, pot, anything that was available to me, I would shoot, snort, smoke, or eat. I'm proud to say that I'm almost a full year into my recovery, being sober since April 23, 2010. It's the best decision I think I've ever made.

As for smoking, that's been a little short with only 4 weeks so far, but one step at a time right? :bleh:

only thing i do is smoke cigarettes and drink on occassion but as far as hard drugs, I've never touched them

Drugs (OTCs) - one week. It's the longest I've been since starting them. >_>" I'm almost nervous to go any longer.

Alcohol - a little over a month.

Around two and half years i think, off of pot.
Around three years, off of pills.
Around one year, off of cigs.
Around 11 months, off of booze.

Its been 6 months without alcohol and weed and 10 months without hard drugs but i really miss it all to be honest.
