Writing a letter to my parents.

Basically, just wanted to know if anyone else has done this sort of thing due to an inability to talk to them. If so, how did you give it to them? Did you just like give it to them and sit there when they read it, or did you leave it and go stay somewhere else for a few days?

I just started finally writing things out tonight, but I need to figure out how to give it to them...really don't want to be here when they read it, and really don't want to come home and deal with them alone after they do...but I don't know what to do really.

Any help is appreciated..

Re: Writing a letter to my parents.

Hi there, I have wrote several letters to my parents, mostly I leave it somewhere they'll find it for example their bed, by their computer or in the kitchen. I never have been in the room whilst my parents read the letter but they usually come into my room later that day and talk about it.

Writing things out can be really helpful. Maybe write a letter, leave it where your parents will find it and go out for the day which gives your parents time to think about what you've written. I'm always here if you ever want to talk, hope everything is ok.

Re: Writing a letter to my parents.

letters work great. i wrote one to my mom (i need to write one again) and left it next to her bed. it really helps when they don't listen. even trying to be calm doesn't work with my parents so a letter that they can read and think about and then talk to me works a lot better. good luck:)

(by the way, i would just leave it for them in a room you don't generally spend time in so you don't end up being there when they read it)
