Here is what I am going to be focusing on:

https://cheisserer.files.wordpress.c...5624.jpg?w=620

I ended up putting this book down and picking up The Serpent King by Jeff Zetner....it was exceptionally disappointing. I was really bored and wish I had picked something else. That being said, I was able to finish it in a day so not too much of a waste.

I might pick up Autonomous later this month but I am in a "I want to read depressing stuff' mood...so I am going to be reading this:

This book was ... really boring and confusing? I only got about 50 pages in and I was confused and had no real desire to continue. I also didn't care much to know what would happen and so I DNF'ed. It is unfortunate because it had a really intriguing premise but I need to care about a story in some way in order to read it. I either need to care about the characters or the ending or something. When I don't care about anything I know it will be really hard, if not impossible, to finish.

So, now I am reading this:

https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....4,203,200_.jpg

I am only 10% in and not sure if I'll get much more read tonight. However, I am enjoying it. I do see that, for some, it might be triggering though.

I could not complete this. It was trying to mimic Jane Eyre, at least in regards to the writing. The first 10-11% was fine but the further I got the more annoyed I was and the less I was enjoying it.

I am reading:

This is an epistolary novel which means that it is told through a series of documents. The traditional documents are letters, diary entries etc. This novel is told in the form of interview transcripts, email, Instant message (I believe) and then confidential documents from the 'military'. It has pictures as well, I believe. I am only 25 pages in and I am really enjoying it. It takes place in space too.

So, these books are really dense. I loved the first two books in the series but the third one was hard to get through. I picked it up when it first came out and attempted to read it two separate times. I couldn't get through it but last year I picked it up on a whim and was able too. I didn't really like it that much but I have heard this book is amazing so I want to try. Unfortunately, I am already struggling to get through it. Instead of DNF'ing it, I am going to read a few chapters each day and focus my time on other books. Once this novel picks up I will probably focus on it primarily.

Here is the book I will be reading as well:

Currently reading 'Der lange Schatten' (don't have a picture of it)
It's for one of my courses but it's really interesting. It's a bit like a polit/crime story I think? And some history mixed in there as well. Though I'm not sure I'll finish it this year since I only need to be done next year and I'm really busy

It was good. The only thing was that some of the abuse stuff was triggering and I skipped over those parts. I am waiting for her second book from the library.

I am enjoying it quite a bit. Reading a tad bit slower than I normally do. I actually really like this type of fantasy, the grimdark, although I know some people don't like it due to how violent/triggering they find it.

I didn't realize she had a second book! I'll have to check out both at some point. I figured that some of the abuse stuff might be a bit triggering. I imagine she went through some pretty horrific stuff.

Also, I remember when Evermore came out, I was interested in reading it and never got the chance. It will be interesting to hear what you think about it. I've heard mixed things.

She has a second book about her firsts and her life outside of being held captive. I am starting it shortly.

It is okay. I’d give it maybe 2.5-3 out of 5. Partly because it had romance in it and I like that. But I didn’t care for the writing style and the different plot elements were too lengthy and confusing to fit together for me. I tend to read a lot at one time and the writer repeated herself often (e.g. “I bit my lips and said....”).

I am going to be looking into both her books. I remember back when people used to talk a lot about her disappearance. I was so happy when she came home and it was such a shock! I imagine her books are a tad bit inspirational/eye opening. :)

Couldn't get into this novel so I DNF'ed. Too many books on my TBR to try and get through books I am not enjoying.

I am going to be reading:

I have been wanting to read this all year. I have it on my kindle but have yet to pick it up. Saw it at Target for a decent price and decided to pick it up. Sometimes having a physical copy of a book pushes me to read it.

I've been in a slump. So, books are very hit or miss. I think the glass castle would be a good read if I weren't in a slump. Going to pick it up at a later date.

This is one of the books that my book club chose for January. It sounds like it might be interesting. One of the girls read it for December and was talking about it. Some of the things she said made me think that I might find it interesting. Apparently Gloria Vanderbilt talks a bit about things that went on in her life and how she wasn't really given the tools to be a mother. I am interested in learning about that ... since that's one of the biggest fears I have in regards to, possibly, becoming a parent one day.

I went to the library today and found this. I've been wanting to read it but last I checked the library didn't have it.

I might go back to city of thieves after this since it's a shorter novel and I've been wanting to read it for most of this year.

I didn't get too far into this and put it down. It was... Too simplistic in terms of writing and there were just walls of text that was... Simplistic?

I'm not against simplistic when it keeps my attention... This book wasn't so I am going to read:

I have heard of Discworld. Not certain that I'd like it because I believe it's kind of a comedy? Not sure on that though BUT I know a ton of people who love this series. I hope you end up loving it as well.

Currently not really reading anything. But I am probably going to start:

https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...NightRechy.jpg

Apparently this book was published in 1963 and the author got a lot of crap for it because it was a book about a gay man and the LGBTQ community or something like that.

Also will probably be attempting to read these Graphich Novels/Manga:

https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....4,203,200_.jpg
(This author has another book called Princess Princess ever after and it was cute and the two female characters kind of fell in love...it wasn't super developed but I think it was a middle grade graphic novel and sometimes those lack development)

https://images.penguinrandomhouse.co.../9781101871515

(Apparently this Manga centers on Japanese culture and how they deal with family/friends/acquaintances who are LGBTQ+. I was only mildly interested until I heard about that since it's interesting to read books like this that focuses on things I am not familiar with)

https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon....4,203,200_.jpg

(This person is supposed to be a really good Manga Horror author. This was one of the smaller Omnibus books that they had so I wanted to try this before diving into the larger one which is 600+ pages. I really like horror Manga/graphic novels so I am intrigued to see if I like it.)

I have been wanting to read this book and the other two that are out in this particular series/trilogy but I didn't own them and didn't want to get them at the library. Was able to, finally, purchase this series and a few other by this particular author.

Really excited to get back into this author since I think he might be a new favorite!

It's indeed a comedy, but the humour is so witty that it's hard not to enjoy it, haha. If you like fantasy you'd love it. It's one of the most remarkable series of all times, in my opinion.

I've been thinking of reading Sanderson for a long time. You recommend his novels then, I reckon? :D

Currently I'm reading the fifth volume of the Vespasian series by Robert Fabbri.
http://www.robertfabbri.com/wp-conte...ok-V-cover.jpg
I've been reading those since the first volume came out in my country in 2012 and, well, I've loved it since. It tells the story of Vespasian, who was the Roman emperor that ordered the construction of the Colosseum.
