College: How many hours do you spend studying?
What's your major?
How many hours are you taking? What's your GPA? How many hours do you study/day on average (ie#hrs week/7), this includes homework, test preparation, labs, etc.? Just curious to see how this scales. I know the traditional argument is 3 hrs/credit unit, but I've never met anyone who does this. |
Re: College: How many hours do you spend studying?
I'll answer for when I was still in college
Early Childhood Education I normally took 12-15 credit hours (4-5 classes) My GPA was usually over a 3.0 (forgot what I graduated with) I had a really project heavy major so I'd usually spend at least 10 hours a week on homework, sometimes up to 20. We also had to do (at least) 15 volunteer hours a semester. This is excluding finals time. |
Re: College: How many hours do you spend studying?
Can I still answer if I just graduated? I could do for last semester :p
Major: sociology Hours: i took 15 credits or 5 classes 3 credits eaxh (15 hours) My gpa was 3.78 i believe. Did not check the most updated though. The hours I spent on schoolwork outside of classes would vary from semester to semester and even within a single semester, there would be busier times than others. I don't know the average but it can range from 5-30 hours a week including weekends :p I'm not even counting transportation to and from school and to and from my volunteer placement :p |
Re: College: How many hours do you spend studying?
Major: Public health
Hours: I range between 12, 15, and 18 credit hours. Last semester I took 19 credit hours, this semester 18. GPA: 3.93. Study time: Honestly it ranges. Last semester I'd spend 1-2 hours a week just on one class and one semester I'd spend up to 3 on another. If a class has take home tests I honestly don't study as much for it, as is the case for many of my classes this semester. |
Re: College: How many hours do you spend studying?
Major: Human services
Credits: 16 usually (4 classes) GPA: 3.84 Hours studying: Usually 1-2 hours per week per class if I don't have any projects due. I do have to write a lot of essays though for my classes instead of tests so it can vary. We are also required to intern 12 hours each week. |
