Re: How to find a new hobby
My advice is if this is a bit daunting for you to start small. What I mean by this is to spend some time researching local things in your area that you like. Growing up I used to be a huge fan of sports and would pretty much try anything. Then puberty hit and I wasn't so sure with how I wanted to spend my time. I used to have quite strong social anxiety but through not jumping straight in and building up my confidence bit by bit I found my current hobbies. For me this was playing netball for a local team, this was an all ages thing with an older crowd and I fit right in, from that I gravitated towards more competitive sessions (all locally). So don't be put off by the thought of trying and start small!

Re: How to find a new hobby
Think about what you enjoy doing in your spare time. Maybe you love reading, exercising, or painting? Consider what you'd like to do if you had more free time. It might be helpful to start by trying something new before settling on a hobby.
Some hobbies require a lot of time, materials, or specific conditions. Think about what’s available to you in terms of resources, whether that’s financial, time, or space for your chosen hobby. Choose something that fits well into your current life situation. Sometimes we don’t know what we’ll enjoy until we try it. Don’t be afraid to explore new hobbies like yoga, playing an instrument, photography, cooking, or volunteering. The key is not to limit yourself to just one option. I love learning foreign languages and it all started with visiting a kids camp abroad. And my sister turned her hobby into a business. She has been making various jewelry with her hands all her life and eventually created her own diamond jewelry brand. |
