Do you have a "period" on the injection (Depo-Prevera)?

Most girls I know on the injection have stopped having periods (well, a fake period I suppose). I had my first injection about 2 weeks ago. I'm just wondering if my periods are likely to stop or not.

My wife's first Birth Control method was the "shot". After she first took it she stopped having periods all together for about 8 months straight. Then she would have weird cycles of about 3-4 weeks straight of having a period then another 4-6 months of not having one. Then again, 3-4 weeks of having a period and repeat.

Sweeeet :) I'm actually having mild cramps right now (which I get about a week before my period) I hope I don't have one >.>

Since I was on the pill before I had the injection would that affect me having a period?
