Pregnant or late period?

Hi, this is my first time posting here. I'm a bit worried as I have a late period. A bit of background info- I'm 19 and I took the morning after pill (Levonelle) on the 20th of July and had my period exactly a week later, giving me a 23 day cycle (the one before it was 25 days). My next period was a 30 day cycle. I was irregular at the best of times, but more towards the shorter side of the cycle.

My boyfriend and I had protected sex during this month, and I was due to start the pill on my next period (typical). I'm currently on day 31 of this cycle. Is it possible that the MAP has still messed up my period? I got severe cramps yesterday, they made me get sick and faint, but the whole ordeal only lasted about 15-20 minutes and they came on really quickly. I took a pregnancy test and it came back negative. And no sign of Aunt Flow coming to visit!!! :( But no signs of pregnancy either :/

So so sorry for the monster post, just I'm really really worried!!!

Re: Pregnant or late period?

Without having access to urine/blood tests, there is really nothing we can tell. However, I have heard from people who have taken the MAP that it does mess with your periods, but that is not included in my lexi-comp app. As you had cramping, I would wait about two more days and then retest.

You could also consider calling the writer of the prescription of the birth control and ask if you should start the pills now and treat it like a Sunday start (read the directions in the pill regarding a Sunday start versus a period start and any precautions you should take). They may recommend you come in for a urine pregnancy test or a serum pregnancy test before you start.

I would also familiarize myself with signs of ectopic pregnancy as that condition could be lethal.
