Painkillers don't seem to having like much effect... I had to come home from my shopping trip with mum due to them... Does anyone have any way that can get rid of these cramps that works... I have period cramps too and sometimes they become really unbearable. I was told that food that are rich in potassium, help reduce cramps. So eat foods like bananas, leafy greens like spinach, Dried fruits like apricots or raisins, etc. Try to avoid caffeine, as that can increase cramps. Also, I noticed on days I am active I don't really suffer much from these cramps, I don't know if being active helps or it just diverts my mind and so I don't feel them as much.
This thread has some wonderful tips that have helped me. You could take a look at it. I hope it helps you too and you feel better soon.

I tried a banana. I've taken ibuprofen and a heat pad on my tummy.. its began to help.. but its more tomorrow I'm worried about as tomorrow is an important day.

I don't know how to make them significantly better before tomorrow, but in the future, I'd consider getting on birth control to manage your period symptoms. It helps significantly, and makes them shorter, lighter, and with less pain. For one day, I'm not as sure. I'd get plenty of sleep, and make sure you're taking care of your body the best way possible. Painkillers are good, but remember that some make you bleed harder which may not always be helpful (for me, Ibuprofen makes me bleed a lot harder when I'm menstruating and it creates more discomfort). Also, consider what you're drinking. Some things work as diuretics (coffee) which may increase cramps; however, they may also relieve some of the pressure you get from water, so that could also help. Sorry I'm not terribly helpful; I've been on birth control for six years, so I haven't experienced a "real period" in a while. :nosweat:

I would go to your doctor and get some advice. I get them REALLY bad every month. Like to the point where I don't want to get out of bed for the 3 to 7 days I am on it. :'(

Praying for you.

I always get period cramps, and rarely on the days where I actually have my period. I went to the doctor and apparently that is normal. I recommend you go, but I don't think it's anything to worry about :)
And to help the pain, buy a wheat bag, it's more effective than a hot water bottle. Try to relax more, watch videos or something, have a bath. Green tea also helps!

Do you mind me asking what your diets like.....if you don't wanna share that's fine..... I just know when I changed my diet my pains practically went away after having severe ones !
