How to be a good girlfriend?
I'm a girlfriend again as of yesterday! It's wonderful and exciting, yet nerve wracking all at the same time. I'm in my first year of college. I wasn't planning on dating anyone this soon, but it just kind of happened that way.
My main concern is just being a good girlfriend! I was in one relationship my junior year of high school. We dated for exactly a year, and now it's been just over a year since our breakup. Things have come full circle since then, but I haven't done the whole dating thing in such a long time that... I don't remember how to do it! He and I were friends for a month and a half before we started dating, so I'm always completely myself around him. I just want to make sure that I'm being the best girlfriend I can be. I don't want to be that needy, or clingy girl... So, are there any tips from guys or girls that you could give me?? Thanks! |
Re: How to be a good girlfriend?
Congratulations on that! Hopefully, he's a keeper!
My suggestions is to continue being yourself and always communicate especially if any problem arises. Be trustworthy of each other and understand each others boundaries. You may not know the boundaries until later in the relationship, but it's always good to know. Don't change him into something you want him to be now that you're in a relationship. Let him be the person you fell for. Be there for each other. Let him know you're there for him. Don't make high expectations, just go with the flow. Also, take things at a proper pace for you and your boyfriend. Don't rush because the beginning of the relationship is one of the most powerful moments (If it's serious). I am also gonna steal what you said in your signature: "Be who you are and say what you feel because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind." Have a loving relationship! :) |

Hi Alexa
The best advice that I can give you is just be yourself. Just be there and communication is key to any relationship, so talk loads to eachother :) |
