Crushes at Work

Urgh. I love my boyfriend, we've been dating for like 3 or 4 years. However, I am crushing on this guy at work. I'm not going to do anything it is just more annoying that he's cute and funny and we talked all the time while he was at my work. He's leaving in a few days to go back to his main job so I won't see him anymore.

I don't know much about him except where he is from and what his specialization is so I don't take it seriously. I know zero about him.

Crushes suck. Crushes apparently suck even more when you're in a relationship.

Re: Crushes at Work

Hey there,

I think we all go through a phase of 'crushing' on someone. I have myself and I've been with my partner for nearly 5 years. The main thing to remember is that it is just that, a crush and nothing can come of it. I think if any other feelings developed then it could be a good idea to question whether you should be in the relationship you're in. I think it is normal to recognise that someone is attractive and that they are a nice person. There's nothing wrong with being attracted to another person as long as you don't act on it and if you feel you may act on it then it would be fairer to the person you're with to let them go.

I wish you the best of luck,
Paige

There is a difference between having a crush and genuine feelings that trump the feelings you have for your boyfriend. Also, you shouldn't act on the crush feelings, because if you love your boyfriend and are happy with him that wouldn't be fair.

As long as you stick to that, generally speaking, you're doing fine.
