a right age?

I saw this asked sometime before, but I'll ask again since I lost the post lol and I'm genuinely curious.

[a lot of yap:]
As someone in highschool, some people in my year or above are in a romantic relationship--some of my friends have shared with me that they have crushes, etc,
currently, I'm 15ish (give or take, I don't want to give my definitive age over here?) and though I've never really had an irl crush or attraction to anyone (save for the occasional appreciation of any pretty person, :p) I have been thinking about it a lot. As in, I've ,,daydreamed" about it a lot, I don't know if that's the right word? I have scenarios in my head, like when I'm older who would I see myself with? It's helped me with finding my sexuality and gender identity etc…

I have on occasion seen some kids from middle school in relationships, but since they're my age (I skipped a couple grades) I didn't think much of it.
My mother says that dating at any age when you're under 18 is basically unnatural, and a lot of it is pushed on them by media like films or series. I see the point in what she's saying, definitely, but she makes it sound as if even anyone liking anyone romantically under 18 is disgusting?
I've never had a crush like i said before, but it would be nice to have one even if I didn't act on it or anything.

my question to you is: what age is it normal to have a romantic relationship? what age is it normal to get crushes?

I honestly think your mom is wrong about dating and having crushes. Kids have little childhood crushes, and then they tend to start dating either in middle or high school depending on the person.

My parents are in their mid seventies and my mom met my dad at sixteen! They're still happily married to this day. They definitely aren't the only people in the world that have dated at fifteen/sixteen either. I think people have been dating as teenagers for a long, long time, and it's not going away any time soon.

It's not disgusting to date as a teenager, and there isn't necessarily a problem unless there's some kind of abuse/assault, or if one person is a minor while the other person is an adult. Two similarly-aged people in a healthy relationship isn't necessarily bad.

Hi there,

I don't think there is a right age to start dating as long as you are ready and don't feel pressured to do so. I started dating when I was 16 and in high school.

That's a good questions. Here the minimum legal age is 18 but can be reduced to 16 in certain cases. But if you want to like someone, the is no specific age for that.
