poem "I'm so sorry" - May 25th 2018, 03:50 AM

A little background. I have to leave my fur baby behind in order to save my life. I can't take him with me. I am devastated. I know this isn't any good but I was crying too hard. I don't know why people say the best poems come from strong emotions. I mean I'm literally crying and yet nothing worth reading but it goes. I also tried to not edit the format too much because I wanted the disjointed news that happened from crying so much to remain there as a way to further communicate the mood

My precious furry friend; my very best
friend. Twelve years of you saving my tormented soul.
You never left my side; I can't imagine leaving you behind
I can't bring you with me. I am so so sorry
What if I never get to see you again? What the next lick on my cheek is the very last one?
no amount of tears can
change the unknown and uncertain
No amount of words can express how much you mean to me
It will be all my fault. I'm so sorry
Please understand.
I'm so sorry
