I've never used period undies for blood but I have issues with peeing myself sometimes and it does absorb the urine. Of course you can't wear them all day without changing but it can help to give your body a break from the material of regular pads. Look at the description of the pair you're getting before purchasing because some are rated to hold more blood than others.
