Today I Feel Like Broccoli. (A Poem)
 

**I posted this poem on another website, but I'm posting it here too. :P

Today I feel like broccoli.
You either like broccoli or you don't.
Normally, people don't like broccoli.
They always leave it on their plate.
Leave it behind.
They eat all the other food though.
The other food gets to be together.
And sticks together, if you know what I mean.
But the broccoli gets left out.
Dumped down the garbage disposal
Forgotten about, left out.
People make nasty faces
When broccoli is mentioned.
No one wants broccoli.
No one wants it around.
People usually play with the broccoli with their forks
They toss it around, move it around,
Everything but eat it.
They just dump it.
No one likes broccoli.
And if you do,
You're apparently crazy.
But broccoli sticks together too.
All the broccoli pieces get thrown out together
Left alone together.
Dumped together.
Today I feel like broccoli.
The chunky, green vegetable
That is so good for you,
But is left alone
Thrown out
Overlooked
Underestimated
Ignored.
Today I feel like broccoli.


**So, often times I feel like I'm ignored, and like no one wants me around. I feel like I'm the annoying third wheel. But, when I'm around my true friends, I'm home. We stick together no matter what. When I'm with my real friends, I feel truly loved. :)

Aww! This is actually really beautiful, great use of metaphors and brilliant emotion! But apparently I'm crazy.... I hope you don't feel like broccoli every day :)

This is amazing! I love the way this is written; it was a very interesting way to think about being left out.

Thanks guys! I don't feel like Broccoli everyday. A few days, but not every.
