Untitled Poem
 

It's kind of sad,
She was falling for you,
And hoping you were falling for her too,
But you both seemed to rush,
All she wanted was love,
You were afraid of that fact.

You both had been hurt,
The past was there,
But you both hoped for the best,
Even though you were both scared.

I know that she cried,
When you told her goodbye,
Even though it wasn't,
A complete goodbye

Though she understood what you said,
Her heart was a mess,
She only tried to hope for the best,
In the situation she faced.

Now I know she lays in her bed,
Staring at the wall,
With her thoughts running around,
And her heart all sore.

She tries not to think,
But its hard when she is alone,
When she misses your smile,
And your laugh most of all.

Her heart may still flip,
When your name is about,
And she smiles to herself,
At the few happy memories she has.

And the only thing she told me,
Was 'It was probably for the best'
I could see how she clinged,
To a dying hope in her chest

And I watched a lone tear,
Run down her cheek,
as she smiled sadly
And turned away to sleep.
