that dress

That torn up dress
In the very back, of your closet
Stashed beneath boxes
Forgotten

You had a bad day, today
You feel so angry
But the pillow case is brand new

You think who to call out to

So you make a mess,
To find that torn up dress
The one that lives,
way back in your closet

Throw it over the white cotton pillow
Release what needs to let go,
Sparkles and sequins fall to the floor
You don't notice the blood anymore

Punch with all your strength
'Cause built up stress
Ain't good for your health
You held everything in for so many nights
The way that torn up dress, has
the audacity to destroy your life!
You punch and punch
(you take a break for lunch)
Then you lunge
So sneaky is that torn up dress
Trying to run.
Not so fast, little one

Remove the dress
That torn up dress
It's wrapped around your pillow
Place the real pillowcase back on
The sweet dear pillowcase one
The one you love

Back to the closet
You torn up dress
You've torn up my life,
With that wicked cry
You call it distress,
I call it an unpleasant whine
Back to the closet, you go
Goodbye

(To anyone interested...)
So next time you're upset
You'll know just what to do
Call out to that dress
That lost-cause, good for nothing torn up dress
It will keep you safe
and your beloved pillowcase
It will keep your pillowcase,
Fresh and new

I really like this part, but I like the whole thing; I always like what you write. I also think it's cool how you used the word "distress" in there too because "dress" and distress" sound similar.
