Re: how are you beating self harm?
Browsing the web on certain topics, I guess I can make it sound fancy and call it "research" :hehe:
Honestly I had no energy today and have been struggling with self-starving, and skin picking but I am planning to do better tomorrow Called a therapy clinic but the intake coordinator was out so I left a message. A step closer to exploring new therapists. Yesterday I went to a community space event called "a space to breathe" We basically just talked about things, the recent election, what it means for us. There was pizza but im lactose intolerant :glare: so I guess it is good I resisted, rather than eating something that would hurt my stomach. Anyway, meeting cool people helped so much. Considering I was indoors a lot with my dad and he can be difficult for me |

Re: how are you beating self harm?
Honestly, the song, "Under The Knife" By Icon For Hire helps me a lot. The second I think about hurting myself, I listen to that song. It has such a powerful message and I know I am better than that, I just need a reminder here and there

Re: how are you beating self harm?
1. Distractions-
2. Changing my perspective, challenging the negative thoughts in the best way I know how. Trying to see things differently. That I'm not a bad person; I'm a survivor of bad things that have happened. And because I've been through a lot, I understand certain things and can use that insight to help others. And one day I would have learned the skills that I've missed out on as a child and I would not only have those skills but I would have the experiences of learning these skills the hard way and fighting the battle so that would allow me to help others fight their battles Trying to not let certain people bring me down but it is really getting hard. But I guess I'm trying to get more social support from outside sources than my family. |

Writing things out (although I have a lot more to write)
So I bought this nail polish with a free $10 gift certificate that I was offered from Nordstorm and I am making it my way to celebrate the 8 weeks without cutting half goal mark. And then I opened it today for the first time and put some on instead of cutting. I also want to do something for the 12 week mark because that was my goal. And then set a follow up goal. |

Re: how are you beating self harm?
Imagining my future home. Or at least my future room. It used to be something I would do all the time as a child. My sister always wanted the room to be filled with mirrors (no thanks, I will pass) but we definitely agreed on an attic and a secret library room. Like on dragon tales, Cassie's new room. Haha
(I love Cassie on dragon tales, like omg) I've been thinking about my safe place. An imaginary place but 2 friends know about it in detail and they've even added some stuff and we remind each other to go there when either of us is feeling low. I will be catching up on TH and if my tablet doesn't fail me, I will type up what I wrote in my journal. Been wanting to get into drawing again. Working on my application for the community program thing |
