Well, I've been diagnosed with depression, and I think I have an anxiety disorder, too, but I'm looking into help with that one. I'll just have to see what my psychologist says.
So I put yes, but if I could vote again, then I'd put a "I think", too.

Well, I have been diagnosed as having a depression, but not very strong. They hesitated, but didn't diagnose me as having Autisme Spectrum. My psychologist said me he's nearly shure that I have it. Beside, he said me (not long time ago) that I have the elements of Dissociative Personality Disorder / Multiple Personality Disorder, but there are no trauma's clearly involved, so it's probably a combination of MPD and Autisem Spectrum.

I've never been tested, but I've dealt with depression and suicidal thoughts so if I were to get tested and it came up negative for depression I would be very surprised.

When I was 15 I was diagnosed with Chronic Depression, and when I was 16 that diagnosis changed to Mood Disorder NOS because I fit into Bipolar I and II.

I honestly don't think that I need a person with a BA or whatever to tell me yes or no you do or don't have this or that illness. I've studied psychology a lot and I'm positive I do.

Some kind of anxiety/panic disorder, but it's relatively mild. I'm learning to manage the symptoms with breathing and thinking techniques. For a while I was seeing a therapistperson but I'm on my own now - I've had public breakdowns and stuff for years and it tends to happen in new situations, so I just have to control them when they come up. It's always a battle. Whatever. I'm constantly getting it under control.

I have learned to get through life with it. I can't control what happens. I just have to live with it.
I always believe (and so do my friends) I have depression, but I wont get diagnosed.
There was someone who i work with who i never noticed but recently he has been twitching. i just assumed he did some nasty drug and that did it to him. i did not realize that it could be some problem that is not his fault this makes me sad because he was really fun to talk to but now i am a little scared of him . well he seems to be able to talk to other people.
anyways. yeah. i am pretty sure i have some dissorder lol when i was in the mental health unit of the hospital lol it realyl fun there. especially when you try to sneak out!! lol well the ther people said they were pretty sure that i had some kind of disorder. i got highs and lows every day and would be wild in the morning. lol. but as long as i keep a high level of strees in my life. i am more steady emotionally. i always down on the inside and happy on the outside. and if i sadd on the out side and someone notices i change it! lol
Well i think i have some mental disorder becasue why else would i be suicidal and think suicidal thoughts even when everyone else would say i am the happiest person in the world.

I have a pretty good chance of having Bipolar II, Borderline Personality Disorder, and Social Anxiety Disorder. But I can't go to a doctor, long story. I've done research after having the prospects suggested to me by an online friend with BP2 and BPD who said that her and I are alot alike, with our reactions, thoughts, feelings, etc., etc. I went for another opinion to another close friend and he agreed. :/

[Edit by Katrina: I'm merging your thread with the already existing sticky titled "Do you have a mental illness?" which basically exists for the same purpose.] Dunno if anyone wants to, and there may be a post for this already and I apologize if there is, but I thought it'd be cool to see what mental "disfunctions" or whatever people have. I include ED's, SH, etc. I'll start:
I have...
Depression
PTSD
Anxiety
Migraine Headaches
Severe concentration and focus problems
Borderline Anorexia (overcoming this finally!)
That's all I can think of. Please share!

Grasshopper, PTSD is an extreme form of Anxiety disorder...depression comes with it too in most cases.
Even so, that's a lot to deal with. =/ You're welcome to PM me anytime if you would like someone to talk to who will listen.
It's very likely I had Social Anxiety Disorder, I'm trying to find somewhere I can get an appointment so I can be diagnosed formally.
I've had clinical depression in the past, I've come a long way since then.

Compassionate Soul...
I figured they were at least in the same range, if not diagnosed together. However, my psychologist always separates them, so I did.
Thanks for the offer. I may take you up on that.

Diagnosing yourself is one of the worst things you can do. Sorry to sound mean. But don't affix yourself with a label until you find out for sure.

yeah, i know, but i just had to do some research to get some idea on what's going on with me, and i have symptoms of those i wrote, but as i said, i need the official diagnosis from the professional, this is just cheap guessing, it means nothing.
and that's not mean, that's honest

I'm glad you don't find it mean. Just that a fair few mental illnesses have overlapping symptoms as well. Like, pretty much everything you said could JUST be PTSD, instead of being PTSD with a cluster of other things, and BPD has a bunch of similar symptoms to BP2, SAD could explain why you feel BP2, and so on, so forth. Maybe when you see your doctor, make sure to talk about your feelings, and try to avoid them catching on that you've done your own research, or else they may think you're exaggerating, or looking for drugs. Trust me, talking about your feelings, and saying how you feel concerned about your mental well-being will get you further than saying "I searched Wikipedia and found I may have this, that, and the other". You know?

I voted that I think I have a mental illness but have not been diagnosed. I'll explain.
Everytime I eat something, I sometimes have to chew it alot and have a hard time swallowing, like I can't swallow, I have to force myself to and I have a fear of choking on it if I do swallow it at certain times. I do swallow my food though, it just takes me longer to eat it. I told a friend, she had the same problem, and her doctor told her it's all in your head so that's what I try to believe. I've never asked a doctor about it personally but maybe I'll bring it up one day.
Also, I worry needlessly about irrational things. I worry about people messing with my stuff in my room or doing something, or something breaking and such things, but I've really been working on that and training my mind not to do that, not to worry, and I've been having a good effect with it so far. It's been successful.
