medications and bulimia -

Okay well recently I've been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and anxiety issues. And now my phys doctor is trying me on different atypical antiphyscotics for it.
But this poses a terrible problem! The medications cause me increased appetite and weight gain
This is causing my bulimia to get worse to try and compensate for the weight gain, and I'm throwing up even after I take my pills and eat... so I guess what I'm wondering is how badly will throwing up affect the medicine doing its job?
Has anyone else ever had this problem? I feel like I'm a tuck in a paradox. When I take my meds my mood gets better but my ed gets worse, and now I'm afraid its affecting my meds now too

Well, when I was taking my depression meds... my councilor knew that I worried sooo much about my weight. So, he put me on meds that didn't cause weight-gain. All you have to do is ask your doctor if he can put you on one that doesn't cause weight-gain. I know you just switched, but it would suit you better and probably make you more comfortable. If you're worried that he will ask about your eating disorder, he doesn't have to know. But, it would be better if he does depending on the meds. Cause, my depression meds said if you have a eating disorder.. you shouldn't take them. But, I didn't know that at the time. So, ask your doctor everything about your medicine that he may put you on. If it says something about bulimia.. I would tell your doctor about your bulimia or just ask for a different medicine. I hope I helped and hope all goes well!!

Are you currently seeing a psychologist about the eating disorder? This needs to be something discussed. Purging does a lot to your body, and it really can be negatively affecting how the medicine reacts in your body. You may also be throwing up the medicine by purging after taking it, depending on how fast it hits your blood stream, and in that case it may be pointless taking it.
Also remember, even if a warning sign is weight gain, it doesn't always happen! My birth control caused no weight gain for me, even if it's a symptom. So keep that in mind before worrying. Take care!

Thanks all for the replies guys!
currently I'm trying to be mindful of the Times I throw up so my medication has a chance to work... but I I think it would be best to stress to my phsy that I do have an eating problem and by giving me meds that cause gain, it will only make it worse
Like mentioned, just by telling g someone what affects could happen, it freaksthem out... it did for me. Maybe its best not to think of the negatives until one comes up and stop borrowing trouble.
I hate playing the med game with doctors it takes slot of trial and error
