*Fan girl scream* Who's seen the series 6 trailer?! It looks IMMENSE.
Sorry for the massive excitment about a TV show, I have an obsession.
See, I only saw Doctor Who for the first time at the end of last year. So, having enjoyed it greatly, I asked for the boxset for Christmas.
I pretty much stormed through seasons 1 and 2. Billie Piper left and I was sad. I've literally grinded to a halt. While there was some great and not so great episodes over those two seasons, I can't even bring myself to watch the second part of Daleks in Manhattan in season 3. The first part just bored me so much.
The first episode I ever saw was Blink, which I know is in season 3, I know that it's there just past the atrocity of this episode, but I just can't find the motivation.
Having enjoyed every other episode, including the Christmas special with Michael Gambon, I'll probably start watching season 6 without completely catching up. But it's a shame since I would've liked to've had the history of all of the new series.
Bloody Daleks in Manhattan had to ruin that. Even Andrew Garfield can't save it.
Cara, i agree! It's gonna be awesome to see something good on TV.
Scott, I know, daleks in manhatten wasn't a great episode. Series three I don't think was massivly good, but there were some good episodes. Series four was good though, that's worth watching. Donna was amazing. I have high hopes for series six as a hugs fan of the show (a slightly fanatical sad one too xD)
I am so excited.
Also either the Dr, River, Amy or Rory dies in the first episode. http://www.totalfilm.com/features/25...-lying#content
I think it is going to be River but then they will jump back in time and she will still be in other episodes even though she is dead. Apparently we find out who she is which is exciting
Also from the trailer it looks like there are some terrifying aliens. Not like obviously terrifying but subtly terrifying like the Weeping Angels.
Also Torchwood is back in the Summer
I am curious to see how it works being set in America but I am still excited that it back
I think it might be River too. If it's Rory or Amy dies, I might cry
Torchwood I'm hopeing will be good. It's a 10 part series I think. I know the story already I still miss Ianto Tosh & Owen though. But at least Jack & Gwen are in it.
Emma!? I have nothing to say to the john barrowman comment....
Aww Hollie i'm sorry :] :hugs:
It's just he is WAYYYYYYYYYY to cheesy for my liking and also after 2 years of my friend constantly sayin his name, showing me pictures and singing his songs every media lesson, i am sure you would be sick of him too :P
Besides it means you can have him all to yourself without any competition from me :]
Aha if you like im thats all that matters and erm dress up as a man maybe that will fool him, hes not exactly the brightest person :P
and erm just kidnap his partner so he doesn't know :P
I don't really like Matt Smith much but I do want to watch this series just to find out who Dr. River is.
But Torchwood is AMAZING. I can't wait to see this new series. And I'm still getting over Toshika.
Throw those curtains wide
One day like this a year would see me right
I think most people prefer Tennant (sexy man :P) but i don't think Matt smith is awful. He hasn't had much of a chance as the new script writer isn't really as good.
And Hollie i know but only when it comes to barrowman :P
You won me back over by referring to david tennant as a sexy man Stephen Moffat is an amazing writer and he has amazing ideas, but as a series writer he's not as good, I agree. His best episodes were blink, the empty child & the doctor dances. He should stick to one off episodes.
Well he is
Yeah Blink was amazing. I wish he made all the episodes as good as that one. But this new series does seem to be better from the trailor so i hope it is. Can't really get worse than the last one. :P
About one of the main 4 dying in the first ep.
I thought it would be River but one of my friends reminded me that she is already dead as she died in the episode Forest of the Dead.
Now I think it will be Rory although he is technically dead too...
I was surprised by how much episode 2 didn't resolve from the last week's premiere. They've set up the story arc very clearly this season - usually it's little flyers in the background or namedrops that hint at what will appear in the season finale, but what with the spaceman, child, Amy's pregnancy and the Doctor's death still not dealt with, we're carrying a lot forward into the main body of the season. It's strange considering a lot of things usually get dealt with within one episode. I like it though, I think.
The ending of the second episode killed my brain cells. I can't make it all work in my head. I don't think I can survive until the finale to find out what's going on. xD
But finally, Doctor Who is as scary as I used to find it. I was terrified by Eccleston's series. Now, finally, I'm behind the sofa again, despite being years older. xD
Do you wanna come with me? 'Cause if you do, then I should warn you - you're gonna see all sorts of things. Ghosts from the past. Aliens from the future. The day the Earth died in a ball of flame. It won't be quiet, it won't be safe, and it won't be calm. But I'll tell you what it will be: The trip of a lifetime!
Don't trust a perfect person and don't trust a song that's flawless.
Hester, it's crazy how well I understood what went on and how well I understand the shows logic generally. Considering I find science and maths hard...

It's because they've introduced all of the loose ends quite quickly, I think. Usually there are a few episodes that stand alone before you start noticing odd things.
