I just started taking Paxil 10mg for anxiety, I was wondering if any of you have been on it and if you have experienced any side effects. I have been reading a lot about it and I am just concerned. I have been having a tingling sensation in my mouth.
I am new to the forum and any comments will be greatly appreciated.

Never been on paxil. But paxil is a antidepressant so it should help with depression too as well as anxiety. Yes sometimes you get side effects sometimes you dont. Side effects can go away so just bear with it for now it should go away. Since you just started the med that may be why your getting side effects they should only last a week or 2 . If they last longer than that and bothring you then you need to tell your med therapist that.
People make the mistake and not talk to there med therpaist when there med is not working makes no sense does it if it doesnt work making you feel bad then TALK TO YOUR MED THERAPIST ITS THAT EASY. She will get you on a new med that will make you feel better. For now I would wait about 2 weeks before you talk to your med therapist because your new to taking this med and need to get used to it before you feel any real diffrence,. Hope that help and so proud of you for seeking treatment.

Yeah, Lauri is right, if you don't feel anything very very weird, keep on taking it and if after two or three weeks you still feel some of the side effects they should change your medication.
Sometimes antidepressants make you feel more anxious, just the opposite as they should and if it doesn't go away or you have trouble sleeping or something tell your doctor

Jonsy, it's not surprising that you'd feel nervous about a medication that's prescribed for your nervousness! But, try to remember that the doc who prescribed it took all the possible side effects into consideration before selecting Paxil, so the chances are less that you'd have them! Also, 10mg is a low dose, started that way to minimize even further the chance of side effects.
If you start to feel anything out of the ordinary, give the doc a call and let him explain it to you.
Thanks for the support I am going to talk to my doctor tomorrow and see what is going on, its just i don't know if it is helping me right now, however i understand that it does take a while for it to work I'm still deciding if i am going to take it tonight or not.
