alcohol makes me feel better -
July 28th 2015, 08:31 PM
I don't have an addiction. I don't drink often enough for it to count. But I've noticed that when I feel really down I drink because it makes me feel something, and so often I just feel numb. Sometimes it's ok because I drink and I feel happier, but more often than not it makes me feel really sad and I cry a lot and I end up being more likely to cut or overdose. But even feeling that sad is better than feeling empty. I'm not sure why I'm posting, what I'm asking, I'm just beginning to feel a bit worried about this pattern of behaviour.
Do you wanna come with me? 'Cause if you do, then I should warn you - you're gonna see all sorts of things. Ghosts from the past. Aliens from the future. The day the Earth died in a ball of flame. It won't be quiet, it won't be safe, and it won't be calm. But I'll tell you what it will be: The trip of a lifetime!
Don't trust a perfect person and don't trust a song that's flawless.

I'm just going by what I know. This is how addictions start. You drink when your sad and down say once a month, then it will turn into once a week, then once a day and so on, That's how it happened to me with cutting. Addictions don't just appear they start out slowly. My advice is try the alternative thread for self-harm when you feel like drinking so it won't become an addiction. And remember drinking is okay once in awhile as long as your of age limit and do it responsibly. Sorry if this didn't help :/
