I'm happy today because my husband has the day off. It's going to be nice to spend some time together and to have some help knocking things off the to-do list.
Best day ever
I got my schedule
I get Sunday, Saturday, and next Sunday off when I only asked for one of them
I had my review, it was written by the manager I was hoping would do it, and I communicated ongoing issues with him
I got radios for my department to share
I got a raise
I "learned" to walk a forklift (which I hope I don't have to do again!)

Someone I helped the other day who complimented my customer service, came back today and my manager told me he wouldn't stop telling her what an amazing job I did helping him.

My uncle posted a video online of his ALS ice bucket challenge from a few years back and in the background my nan is laughing. It's so nice to hear her laugh again <3
I'm booking an open day for a postgrad course. The uni is in central London and the buildings look amazing and it's right on the River, so if the course sounds good I'm going to go for it and start moving forward with my life.
Okay, so my favourite character from a book just died and it was hardly a surprise (they always die, my favourites) but I was still upset. I always am. And then it turns out he wasn't dead at all. But, the thing is, I have already accepted his death and found myself a new (alive) favourite character. What am I supposed to do now?
And I'm happy my rants are about the book I'm reading instead of myself or my life...
I woke up this morning feeling pretty down in the dumps, but I've managed to cheer myself up by reading over 200 pages of a book so I feel much better now.

Resilient
1. (of a person or animal) able to withstand or recover quickly from difficult conditions.
2. (of a substance or object) able to recoil or spring back into shape after bending, stretching, or being compressed.
We all possess resilience, we just need to realize it.
