Not Enough Time (a poem) -
October 31st 2013, 04:57 AM
In my head I’ve been hiding
Unwritten suicide notes and recurring nightmares.
My thoughts have run on for too long tonight.
But if you ask me what I've been doing,
I probably won't tell you
That I've been thinking of death.
How, when, and where mine will come.
Because I’m well aware I could be gone
Before the sun meets the horizon,
And yet I’m stuck on dead-end thoughts
Which don’t allow me to sleep most nights.
While everyone I know works on self-improvement,
I chose self-destruction.
Perhaps I thought there was something to gain.
But now the future looks like a broken mirror
And I can’t see myself straight.
More often than not these days,
You'll find me sitting in clouds,
Just thinking about
How there aren’t enough days,
Enough seasons,
Enough time to go around.
I look towards the ground
Thinking of what it would be like
To jump from here,
And wondering if I'll ever find out.
"Skies are blue and I'm alive. So all is well." - John O'Callaghan

I love this a lot!
Do you ever get a little bit tired of life
Like you're not really happy but you don't wanna die
Like you're hanging by a thread but you gotta survive
'Cause you gotta survive
