Superhero poem -
May 11th 2016, 02:12 AM
Everyone is so quick to call their hero Superman
But inside everyone there’s a villain
Some even prefer the term, “vigilante”
But you never did check on me while I was sleeping
Tell me does your wrist produce scars instead of spider webs
Yet somehow you still think you’re better than everyone else
Ohhh, you pull the trigger, but it’s not a bullet that runs
Because just like Batman, you refuse to resort to guns
I’ll try and protect myself with this vibranium shield
But it doesn’t do much because we’re from completely different stories
And no matter how many times we say we don’t want to fight
It’s what we do, it’s who we are, and it’s our job day and night
Even after everything, you’re just a man in a suit
And I’m just a woman who only has power when I show some skin
You expected me to be your Scarlet Witch
But for now you’ll settle for The Enchantress
Until you see the day when a place like heaven
Finds its position in your weapons
How many times do you need to see the psychiatrist?
Until you’re brainwashed enough so that the good guys are the ones who you’re against
We both may be powerless
But I can still make music with these mallets
One of these days your scars will produce spider webs
I just hope you don’t use your incredible ability only to save yourself
~I was always scared of everything, even the carousel.~
~Don't worry about me. I'm sort of feeling fine, but by tomorrow, I'll be back on my feet again.~
Do you ever get a little bit tired of life
Like you're not really happy but you don't wanna die
Like you're hanging by a thread but you gotta survive
'Cause you gotta survive
Tell me does your wrist produce scars instead of spider webs
Yet somehow you still think you’re better than everyone else
If clarity's in death, then why won't this die?
Years of tearing down our banners, you and I
Living for the thrill of hitting you where it hurts Give me back my girlhood, it was mine first
