Sex and Puberty For questions related to sex, puberty, birth control and sexual health, ask here!
hi!
posting this here bcuz puberty related: my voice has always been raspy and it recently started breaking. it’s so dang annoying fr…how long is this supposed to last?
I see "male advice preferred" but wanted to ensure you got some information...and puberty is the worst for everybody. While I didn't have this experience growing up, from what I found from Kids Health, the process seems to last a few months. I would emphasize to try not to be self conscious about it (easier said than done). Everybody at your age is going through bodily changes, and everybody is more preoccupied with their own weird bodies. Hopefully this passes soon for you, good luck!
Not a cis guy, but I am on HRT (Hormone Replacement Therapy). My voice started breaking about a year into HRT and it's still continuing about a year later. Now, because I was assigned female at birth, my voice will never get as deep as a cis male's, but at some point I assume it will stop in about the same length of time, which can be a couple of years or more.
