Could my girlfriend be pregnant? -
January 29th 2009, 11:47 AM
Hey guys,
I'm worried that my girlfriend may be pregnant..
We were at her Nan's yesterday and were doing stuff; my girlfriend got some pre-cum(we think.. it may be sweat or something) after touching me and one thing led to another and she ended up touching the outside of her vagina(she didn't go inside).
Now my girlfriend is on the pill - for medical reasons - so she can't get pregnant at the moment but from Saturday onwards she's off the pill and starts her period 2 days after - sperm can live inside a woman for up to a week am i right?
What sort of chance is there of her being or becoming pregnant?
Thanks... Jake.

It doesn't sound to me like it's very likely that she's pregnant. While it's true that sperm can live inside a girl for a few days, you don't even know for sure if she got precum on her, precum doesn't have a lot of sperm in it, and she didn't get it inside of her. The chances are her becoming pregnant from that are very slim. I really think that you've got nothing to worry about.

Hey there Jake!
The only way to tell if she is pregnant is for her to take a pregnancy test. Anytime cum or pre-cum gets on or in the vagina there is a chance for pregnancy, regardless if she is on the pill. Birth control isn't 100% effective. As for her chances, I don't know since everyone is different. I'd suggest if you keep being sexually active, you use condoms. As for pregnancy tests, she can take an at home test 10-14 days afterwards or go see her doctor and get a blood test 5 days after.

Right. If she doesn't get her period when she's due for it, definitely get her to take a test and/or see a doctor. The only way you can ever know for sure whether or not she's pregnant is for her to take a test. However, like I said, the chances are very, very slim.

Yeah i thought there wasn't a great chance but i'm still worried.
We said if she doesn't come on her period by wednesday then we'll go to the doctors and have a blood test.. She's over 16 so that means she could get an abortion without parent's concent in the UK doesn't it?

I'm sure you have nothing to worry about but I think you should look into the abortion, testing, contraception clinic services in your area anyway. Do your research on the laws and various things available to you... it's part of leading a healthy sex life!

There's an awful lot of ifs there, I think there isn't much chance at all she's pregnant. Only a test can tell you though. As for the abortion, in the UK it doesn't matter what age you are, doctors cannot tell your parents anyway. I think you are worrying over nothing, but I'm glad your concerned because it shows that you understand how big a deal pregnancy is. x

I think there isn't much of a chance that your gf is pregnant. It just seems very unlikely. Don't worry and stress over it. Just wait it out and if things go array, take a test.

Ok thanks for the advice guys..
I'm going to plan for the worst and hope for the best - as the saying goes - so I think on the Tuesday, if she misses her period on Monday and doesn't come on it by Tuesday i'll ring up the local sexual health clinic and enquire about abortions - don't really want to go through local doctor..
I'm planning what to do now so in the worst case scenario we know what to do and how it's going to be done... The only thing i'm worrying about is, if she is pregnant, how we're going to get to a clinic or anyplace, her Mom is really strict with her and doesn't let her out on her own if she doesn't know where she is, I'm sure I'l think of someway around it
Thanks for the help, I'll tell you how it goes on Monday/Tuesday

We'll be waiting! Best of luck. And if you need someone to talk to, send me a PM. Try not to stress too much and keep in mind if she misses her period it could be because she is stressing that she may be pregnant! So don't completely freak out okay?

Hmm.. she wasn't on it today.. little bit more worried now, but she thought she may not be on it because it's always 2 days after her last pill which was Saturday..
She isn't stressing out bad enough to make it miss her period.
She was ill most of the day today, headaches, stomach aches, she also had a headache for the majority of the day yesterday.. Could it be a sign of anything..?

The pill takes 2 weeks to be effective, just so you know. I don't know if that was already said. plus, for the pill to be effective in reducing chances of pregnancy it must be taken at the same exact time every day with ( a half hour give or take) If she's on it for medical reasons it just has to be taken withing the same 2 hours every day.
And its too soon for her to have morning sickness, or any signs of a pregnancy, i think. One day off from a regular cycle is no big deal, plus if she's only had her period for a couple of years, being late or early by a few days is completely normal. Just wait it out, and get her a pregancy test if you really are worried. If you don't want her to get pregnant, then a) don't get in those risky situations b) just be a bit more careful and use protection
:]
There is a very slight chance that she may be pregnant, but still a chance. Don't stress too much!

You'll need to wait to take a pregnancy test until 10-14 days after the sexual act. If you don't want to wait that long, then you can get a blood test from your doctor 5 days afterward.

and her headaches and all that could be a cold a flu anything she wouldnt show signs of being pregnant yet not for about a little over a month. But like i said i highly dought she is pregnant. one she is on pill plus she touched outside of vagina and number two sperm almost die instantly from air. so i dought she is pregnant. dont be worried or stressed and dont stress her anymore then she already is or her nerves will cause her period to be late
