i’m confused about being trans -
April 21st 2026, 02:36 PM
Hi i’m jammer and i’ve known I was genderfluid/genderqueer since I was 11. I was born Female, I currently identify as transgender (female to male) but I am not entirely sure if that fits me. Identifying with he/him is preferred but I don’t really get gender dysphoria when someone calls me she or when i look at myself. I do get gender euphoria though. I originally identified as genderfluid (any pronouns including she/her) then I thought that I was trans (he/they/and sometimes it). Then I went back to being fully genderfluid (any pronouns). But then I went back to and am still currently trans. I don’t necessarily identify with she/her pronouns but I don’t get dysphoric when they are used, and i also don’t dislike my female body. I also still like wearing feminine clothing. I guess i just kind of feel like my transgender identity is invalid.
I would like to say that I haven’t come out to my parents. I have come out to most of my friends. I also know that being genderfluid/nonbinary does fall under the trans umbrella. Tell me if you’ve had a similar experience!

I'm agender and haven't come out to my parents either, so I get that. I also tend to wear more feminine clothing, mainly because leggings and a T-shirt are comfy I also am out to a lot of friends. But what you wear and your dysphoria/lack thereof isn't what makes you fall under a non-cis identity. It can even be the gender euphoria part, or just a FEELING. And that feeling is valid.
It's okay that you don't fully know what your label is right now. It's honestly fine to just try out different labels to see what fits with you. Gender is a fluid thing, meaning there isn't one "right" or "wrong" way to experience your gender. You just do what is most comfortable to you. You don't even HAVE to use a label if you don't want to, or maybe use the umbrella "queer" or "nonbinary."
Don't feel bad or invalid because you don't experience gender in the same way as other people. Not everyone needs to go on this long, difficult journey. Go at your own pace.

For me, agender means that I don't identify as either female or male. We can talk more about it separately if you want so we don't take over this person's thread

I have a friend who is changing into a female and all is now for him/her to get an operation to remove his male parts and turn them into female parts. She now can't wait to become a woman and feel her body change into what she wants and that is to be a girl.

Hi there,
I'm sorry to hear what you're going through at the moment.
However, if you feel like you may not need to have a label, then there's no rush to do so. Decisions like these takes time so take as much of it as you need.
